In 2023 January 19 a meeting of the Council of the Lithuanian Construction Association (LCA) took place, where the activity plans and strategic directions of the association for 2023 were presented, the strengthening of work safety at construction sites was discussed and a new member was accepted.
During the meeting, LCA president Dalius Gedvilas presented to the Council the activity plans and strategic directions of the association for 2023, such as monitoring of legal acts being prepared, participation in the development of the Construction Code, problems of public procurement of construction works, work safety at construction sites, assessment of professional qualifications and competences, LCA's relations with state institutions and development of sector associations, ethical issues of LCA members, fair competition and LCA development.
Council members also discussed strengthening work safety at construction sites. The head of LCA's Competence Assessment Department, Robertas Encius, and the head of CONRES, Lukas Laukaitis, mentioned that the association supports the initiative to prepare work safety training programs, according to which employers or accredited external assessors hired by them would train employees. In this way, it is possible to raise and standardize the level of safety knowledge of workers working on construction sites. It was also noted that in February of this year A conference on work safety is planned in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, in which the LCA will also participate.
By decision of the Council, a new member was accepted into the LCA community - UAB "Statybos montavimo darbai".
